Dr. BABAK BABAN

Associate Dean of Research, Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University of Georgia

Babak Baban is a Professor of Immunology at the Departments of Oral Biology and Diagnostic Sciences, Dental College of Georgia, Departments of Neurology and Department of Surgery, Medical College of Georgia, at Augusta University in Georgia. He received his Ph.D. from the University of London in the UK followed by completion of his postdoctoral fellowship in molecular immunology at the Medical College of Georgia (currently Augusta University). Further, he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Augusta State University in 2008, Master of Public Health (MPH) from Augusta University in 2015, and Certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School in 2022. He is currently the Associate Dean of Research at the Dental College of Georgia. He is a member of the scientific board and study sections of several major organizations nationally and internationally, including the American Heart Association, Marie Curie Action of the European Commission, American Dental Association, La Caixa Foundation, International Cannabis Research Society, European Predictive, Preventive and Personalized Medicine Association (EPMA), Medical Cannabis of Europe, and the Qatar National Foundation Scientific Review Board. Further, he is a member of the editorial board and reviewing team for several prestigious scientific Journals.Dr. Baban was granted the Regent's Entrepreneur designation by Georgia Board of Regents based on his outstanding full-time tenured established reputation as a successful innovator who has taken his research into a commercial setting.
