THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY

In August of 2020 Thriftmaster and Augusta University agreed to a research sponsorship relationship utilizing the Thriftmaster’s Metered Dose Inhaler and proprietary CBD-based formulations. Thriftmaster supports Augusta University’s research through sponsorship funding, third party lab testing, product formulation, placebo design, and research assistance for various IRB and FDA Investigational New Drug applications. In return for this financial, product and research support, Thriftmaster holds exclusive licensing rights to the intellectual property created by The university’s cannabidiol research.

     

With the support of Thriftmaster, the University of Augusta’s Dr. Babak Baban and his team have published six (6) Peer Reviewed papers addressing the use of inhaled CBD for the treatment of severe and orphan indications. Additional papers are in process to follow-up on current studies.


Thriftmaster has licensed three patent families from Augusta University which capture the CBD research innovations developed by Dr. Baban’s Team, with additional licenses under consideration.”

Dr Baban has drafted three IRB applications to begin Human clinical testing at the University for Glioblastoma, Migraine and Epilepsy, and is currently awaiting final FDA approval of an IND to begin Phase 1 Clinical research for an Investigative New Drug for Alzheimer’s therapy using a CBD metered dose inhaler. As of this date Dr. Baban’s published research using inhaled CBD has been cited in 37 research papers to date.
