PARTNERSHIP

CLINICAL STUDIES

In August 2020, Thriftmaster partnered with Augusta University and Dr. Babak Baban to explore the therapeutic potential of our proprietary CBD blend and Metered Dose Inhaler delivery system. TGB provides the university funding, product formulation and research support, resulting in exclusive rights to the intellectual property created by Dr. Baban's research. This collaboration has led to the publication of six peer-reviewed papers focused on TGB’s inhaled CBD blend and delivery system as a therapy for severe conditions. Many additional studies are in progress. Dr. Baban is preparing to initiate human clinical trials for these conditions (Glioblastoma and Alzheimer's therapy) pending FDA approval.

Brain, Head, Neck

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common form of primary malignant brain tumor, according to the American Brain Tumor Association.

Glioblastomas arise from glial cells, which normally help support and nourish nerve cells of the brain (neurons) and form scar tissue that helps repair brain damage in response to injury. Glioblastoma are often very aggressive and grow into surrounding brain tissue. The tumors also are comprised of the body's own white blood cells that arise from the bone marrow.

Head and neck cancers (squamous cell carcinomas) most commonly begin in the squamous cells lining the mucosal surfaces of the head and neck (those inside the mouth, throat, and voice box). On rare occasions, head and neck cancers can originate from the salivary glands, sinuses, muscles and/or nerves in the head and neck

Lungs, Circulatory System

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) occurs when lung swelling causes fluid to build up in the tiny elastic air sacs in the lungs known as alveoli. These air sacs have a protective membrane that is damaged by inflammatory response in the lungs. The fluid leaking into the air sacs keeps the lungs from filling with enough air. This causes less oxygen reaches the bloodstream, preventing the body's organs from receiving oxygen needed for proper function.

Brain

Alzheimer's disease is a brain disorder characterized by changes in the brain that lead to deposits of certain proteins. Alzheimer's disease causes the brain to shrink and brain cells to eventually die. The most common cause of dementia, Alzheimer’s causes a decline in memory, critical thinking and social skills over time.

Addiction may be defined as a chronic medical disease involving complex interactions among neurology, genetics, and environmental influence. People with addiction compulsively abuse substances and/or engage in compulsive/risky behaviors despite known harmful consequences
